So it has been ages since I have updated the blog. So sorry,
it has been very busy over here. Nanna and Pop have been having a wonderful
time with us. For the past two weeks we have taken them out for cocktails, taken
them on a massive walk from Hampsted via Primrose Hill to St John’s Wood and went to Greenwich to
see the lovely Sunday markets.
Last week on Wednesday Benny kindly work up at 4am to take
Nan and Pop to the bus station to get on the National Express to the airport.
They were off to visit my exchange family. They had the most incredible time.
They had two nights in Inzell with Renate, Hans and Alexander followed by two
nights in Vienna with Jutta and Sebastian. They successfully got back on Sunday
night from the airport to our front door with no assistance. I was so proud of
them. Their time in Inzell and Vienna was a big highlight of their trip so far.
They were even lucky enough to see snow fall in Inzell.
Ben and I had a quiet weekend while Nan and Pop were away.
Ben spent Saturday watching three games of sport starting with the Queensland
Reds game. I spent the day at home sewing away on my lovely machine that Ben
gave me for Christmas. The dress is turning out so well as Nanna is teaching me
a few tricks of the trade. On Saturday night I went to the movies with Lee and
Mossy while Ben was watching the third sport game of the day, the Champion
Leagues final. I was taken to a great sushi restaurant, it was so tasty. My favourite
was the soft shell crab.
On Sunday, Ben and I had a sleeped in and we went on an
adventure to a haberdashery store that someone at work had told me about. It
was in Tooting Bec, after a train and a short bus ride we arrived and
discovered it was closed, whoops, I should have checked the website. Lucky for
us, our next destination of the day, a sofa store, was only one bus ride away.
The bad news, traffic was rubbish as the store was in Chelsea and they were
having a street parade for celebrating their win in the Champion League final.
I was also incredibly desperate for a toilet stop so we got off the bus early
and dropped into a pub. We ended up staying for lunch and I had a fantastic Asian
salad and Benny decided to try something different, a Sunday roast pork. After
our input, output stop we walked to the sofa store and sat in many comfortable
chairs.
Yesterday (Tuesday), I was in a summer mood. It was the
first real hot day in a while. I decided to risk it and wear no jacket and open
shoes to work when it was only 12 degrees in the morning. By 11 is was a
beautiful sunny hot day. It was so nice that Benny and I thought it would be
perfect weather to go to the local park after work and have drinks, with cheese
and biscuits. We got home around 8pm and had a lovely dinner cooked by Benny.
Tonight we are off with my grandparents and a few friends to
Green Park for a picnic dinner. Tomorrow Ben is taking Pop to a trivia night
with a few of his friends and I’m taking Nanna to the Chelsea Flower Show. This
weekend we are off to Brussels early Saturday morning and will return on
Monday.
