Last week can be summed up in one word - manic. I was working on a major tender at work and managed to squeeze in two dinners in Brick Lane. It was our first adventure to Brick Lane which is famous for its line of Indian restaurants. Each restaurant has a man outside bartering with the people that walk past trying to offer you the best deal. On Tuesday night we went with Loic and Kristine and had a nice feast. On Wednesday, Thursday and Friday I had to work late. On Friday night after a late night at work we ventured again to barter with more men in Brick Lane. We went for dinner with about 15 people and went for cocktails after. We some how by sheer luck just made the last tube for the night at 12:50.
Saturday was a big drama. All tubes and overland trains were not leaving Putney. We were offered rail replacement buses instead of trains. It took me two and half hours to get to a eyebrow wax appointment which only took 10 minutes. Later that afternoon I went to get my hair cut by a guy from my work's wife. He is from New Zealand and she is from Japan. They treated me to a great lunch and a nice haircut. Ben spent the day intently watching soccer and the rugby world cup.
Sunday Ben got up really early to watch the Australia and NZ game. Unfortunately with the Australia loosing the anticipated celebration didn't eventuate. Ben and I spent the afternoon instead in search for winter jackets and boots. I successfully found some boots and a jacket. It is supposed to reach the low ten degrees by Friday. It is definitely getting colder. We have even turned the heater on for the first time.
This week it is going to hopefully filled with less hours at work and to see Benny just a little bit more.
